About us
AraLith is an Italian software house in the province of Rome, active since 2007. It builds custom management software, digitises complex business processes and takes over existing software to evolve or modernise it, for SMEs and companies whose processes off-the-shelf software does not cover.
Management systems designed around the company's real processes, replacing shared Excel sheets, obsolete software or generic tools that cover only half the job. From a module for a single department to custom management software for the whole company.
Workflows with multiple roles, approvals, deadlines and documents brought together in a single web application, instead of being passed around through email, spreadsheets and manual steps.
We take over software written by others: first we study and document it, then we secure it and evolve it step by step, up to migration onto a sustainable technology, with the existing system in use throughout the transition.
Connections between management systems, CRMs, ERPs and external services that do not talk to each other today, including electronic invoicing through Italy's Exchange System (SdI).
Cases and domains
The custom management systems we have built cover 8 different domains: invoicing, bookkeeping and accounting, dental practices, corporate events, management for condominium administrators, invoicing for road hauliers, ERP for large companies, and patent and intellectual property management. The domain changes, the method does not: every project receives the same attention to architecture, code quality and long-term maintenance.
A software house is a company that designs, develops and maintains software, either on commission or as its own product. It differs from a web agency because its craft is not communication but building applications: management systems, web apps, platforms and SaaS products. AraLith is a software house in the province of Rome, active since 2007, that builds custom management software, digitises business processes and modernises existing software.
The cost of custom software depends on the scope of the project and there is no price list. It varies with the number of processes covered, integrations with existing systems, historical data migration, the number of users and roles, and any regulatory constraints. The free technical call makes it possible to give a ballpark figure before any commitment; the estimate in hours comes after requirements discovery, and the project can be split into phases to spread the investment.
The source code of custom software developed by AraLith belongs to the client, by contract. On delivery the client receives the complete code, the repository with its full change history and the technical documentation, with full intellectual property. There is no lock-in: any other developer can carry the work forward. This applies to custom development; AraLith's SaaS products are used on a subscription basis instead.
AraLith takes over software already in production that was written by other developers. It first studies and documents the existing code, then secures it and evolves it through gradual refactoring, up to a possible migration onto a sustainable technology. Work proceeds in phases, often running the existing and the new system in parallel on the process being migrated; recovering historical data is part of the project.
A web agency mainly handles websites, digital campaigns and marketing; a software house like AraLith designs and develops custom application software: management systems, platforms, systems integration, process automation. For a standard brochure website an agency or a template costs less and is the right choice. Custom software makes sense when the process is specific, when integrations with existing systems are needed or when there are data and regulatory constraints.
AraLith is based in the province of Rome and follows projects across Italy, on site when needed and remotely for the rest of the engagement. Project management runs through calls, demos on a test environment, ticketing and shared documentation: distance is not an operational constraint.
The duration of a software project depends on the number of modules and the integrations required: AraLith estimates it after the discovery phase and does not promise it before. Work proceeds in phases starting from the most critical process, with interim releases that let you use and test the software during development instead of waiting for final delivery.
After delivery AraLith can take care of the ongoing development of the software: security updates, new features and technical support. Maintenance is optional and never mandatory: with the source code and documentation in hand, the client remains free to entrust it to someone else.
We start from the most critical process so that something usable arrives early. During a migration the existing and the new system run in parallel, and recovering historical data is part of the project.
On custom projects the source code, the repository and the technical documentation belong to the client, by contract: any other developer can carry the work forward, with no lock-in.
We build and maintain AraLith COS, OreFattura, Mailable and AralithPulse in-house. We know the real cost of technical decisions because we pay it ourselves: the same competence goes into custom software.
The person who gathers the requirements is the same one who implements them and delivers the software: no internal handovers, no requirements lost along the way.
We have worked as the technical partner of 5 communication and marketing agencies. On white-label work, confidentiality agreements cover both the end client and the commissioning agency, and remain in force beyond delivery.
Healthcare software (MedicHub, now presented as a case study), electronic invoicing through Italy's Exchange System, patent and intellectual property management: domains where a mistake has legal, not merely commercial, consequences.
The first technical call is free: bring your process or your existing software and get an honest opinion, even when the answer is “you are better off with off-the-shelf software”.
Studio Torta and Tinexta Innovation Hub entrust AraLith with the development of their custom software: the client portal for industrial property on one side, an application portfolio of almost fifty applications and modules on the other. This is work that continues year after year, on platforms in production.
An application portfolio managed over the years
Almost fifty applications and modules built, rebuilt or maintained over about three years of collaboration: case and funding management, reporting, commissions, invoicing, timesheets, quoting and document archive, with integrations to Salesforce and SAP.
The client portal for industrial property
Since 2023 we have been developing the front end of Studio Torta's client portal. We joined to support the team towards the release of a project already under way, and after a few months we were given full responsibility for development.
Tell us about the process to digitise or the software to evolve: we will get back to you to schedule the call. No commitment and no unwanted sales calls.
When people talk about Italian software houses they often picture large, inflexible organisations. In reality the point is not size, but the ability to turn complex requirements into custom software development and software solutions that genuinely improve processes, timelines and operational control.
AraLith works as a software development company with a direct approach: technical analysis, design and release follow a single thread, without commercial hand-offs that scatter the project context. Its operational base is in the province of Rome: if you are looking for a software house in Rome and its province, that page explains the method and how we work locally.
Many SMEs look for an Italian software house because they want a partner who is close, quick to discuss things and able to read the operational context. AraLith's working method combines discovery, shared priorities and iterative development to build custom software without unnecessary bureaucracy.
We understand the process, the problem and whether custom software really makes sense for your company.
We map the real process, roles, integrations with existing systems, data to migrate and regulatory constraints. The requirements document stays yours even if the project does not go ahead.
Activities, priorities and release order: we start from the most critical process so that something usable arrives early.
You see working software along the way, not only at the end, and discuss it with the project's technical point of contact.
Source code, repository with full change history, technical documentation and usage training. Ongoing maintenance is optional, never mandatory.
MedicHub, designed and built by AraLith: multi-practitioner scheduling, clinical records, invoicing and integrations with Italian healthcare systems, on special-category health data. Today it is a case study, not a product for sale.
Project delivered as the technical partner of an agency, for a large group in the travel & events sector: attendees and RSVPs with six states, hotels and rooms, travel and transfers, seating, email communications and asynchronous Excel import/export.
Our software that takes tracked hours all the way to an electronic invoice sent to Italy's Exchange System (SdI): an integration with a public system, built and maintained in-house.
